Adventuring Never Looked So Good
Adventuring Never Looked So Good
Life is an adventure. In fact, so much so that the word “adventuring” has become a verb in the slang world. Well check these out. I’ve been adventuring, and each time I do I make sure to bring something home with me. Art, memories, landscape, wildlife, call it what you want. It’s in my home, and now it can be in yours too.
Express your home
Art is often a way we depict what our life is all about. When we come home, we expect a specific mood to be present. Having that unique piece on your wall will create the environment you’ve always wanted to have in your home.
I’ve attached a link to a gallery where you can order prints of different media straight to your home. Print options include luster paper, canvas wrap, and aluminum. Let me give you a quick description of each.
Luster is your normal photo paper, however all of your prints are going to be mounted onto a 1/4” foam core board. This gives you protection from wrinkles and waves when in a frame. It also allows you to frame your picture without any glass if desired. “Why would I not want glass?” COST. Most glass is pretty cheap, and gives you annoying reflections and glares. While it can protect the print from flying toys and two year old ninjas, unless you purchase museum art glass, you’re very likely to have glares and reflections. This is definitely the type of print I recommend for anything going on display at a wedding or event. You can display these without a frame and instead, put them on an easel.
Canvas Wrap is probably one of the most popular and most often purchased medias for prints including family portraits and artistic images. Canvas wraps are absolutely beautiful in the home. Canvas is actually fabric that is stretched across wooden bars. Because it is fabric, it takes a different kind of ink than your typical luster prints. It is important, however, to use a high quality printer when using canvas wrap. If a less expensive printer is used the fabric may become stiff over time causing the ink to crack and flake. Using a higher quality printer results in fabric that will hold its shape, color, quality and can actually be re-stretched over time if need be. Things like humidity and those two year old ninja throwers can be just a few reasons a canvas may need to be re-stretched.
This is probably my personal favorite type of print. This print media is exactly as it sounds. Printed on metal, these prints are tough, they don’t need a frame and they are GORGEOUS. It’s a very modern look. They are hard to scratch, can be cleaned with a glass cleaner and don’t fade or lose quality over time. These are becoming very popular in hospitals and hotels because of the durability and the exquisite look they have. Humidity does not affect these and neither will the flying toys from your kids. While they are the heaviest (weight wise) of the three prints, they come with a metal bracket on the back of them so you can hang them with ease. They look like they’re floating on the wall which reflects an effortless and minimalistic look. While frames can complement the art, because they’re actually sheets of alumnium these free floating prints let the art speak for itself.

You’re ALMOST done! You’ve put together the outfits, planned the wedding, coordinated schedules for everyone, booked the photographer, but now you have to finish strong! I always compare purchasing poor prints to watching a VHS tape on a 4k HD TV. Sounds ridiculous right? That’s kind of what you’re doing when you print at stores like Wal-Mart or Costco. I mean, you can if you really want to, but all that work will be wasted. Trust me. Watch these two videos I so awkwardly made, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
While viewer discretion is not advised, please brace yourself. This will be like a VR rollercoaster.
In this next video I’ve gathered prints from four different stores. Three hack job printers, and one super star printer. Learn the differences before you print. Here are the digital files, so you can reference them while watching the video.
If there is something you’ve been wondering about or would like to learn about, feel free to contact me at any time! I can help yo with custom orders, albums, edits, and anything you may be wondering about. I look forward to working with you!
